AïA Evaluation Framework
When young people talk to AI, how do we know whether it’s helping them or could be causing harm? We answer that question by measuring what AI systems do.
Mission
AIA is a way to test how AI interacts with young people. Experts identify what to look for, and we create the open source infrastructure to measure how the AI behaves, for example, whether it encourages someone to think for themselves or makes decisions for them.
Goals
The results help companies improve their AI and help policymakers set rules. We identify what experts across cultures agree on, what may need to be different in different places, and what needs more research. As researchers learn more about the long-term effects, we update the guidance.
The goal is to healp AI support young people as they grow.
Unique Methodology
A neuroscience lead technology
The CALIBER methodology assess a range of parasocial behaviors to ensure that when a child or teen has a conversation with an AI system, we can measure the conversation could lead to an unhealthy relationship betwen the child and theAI chatbot. These measurements are designed to help conversational AI application builders to design safer application for children and teens.
